Kansans are not getting fair, accurate political news. Kansans do not know what the political
parties stand for, nor do they know what conservative legislators do at the state level. They
certainly do not know what the Democratic Party is doing with its involvement with Dr. Tiller!
Are you not in the least frustrated by the press coverage of state and national politics? I am, and I
am doing something about it.
I started THE QUIET CONSERVATIVE effort after the November 2006 elections. I was
frustrated at the lack of honest reporting in the state’s attorney general race. The idea was to write
an independent political column to run in all the state’s smaller papers. There are more than one
hundred smaller papers that could be getting the accurate information out about political happenings
in our state government. No one in the press is holding our officials accountable. No one is doing
the deep investigations many stories deserve.
THE QUIET CONSERVATIVE would investigate political stories at the state level. It will not
take an advocate position on news stories, but strive to be as accurate as possible. It would,
though, ask questions that the mainstream press ignores and would investigate stories the
mainstream papers bury. THE QUIET CONSERVATIVE would have, in addition to the paper
columns, a web site that provides news and editorials about national events. This is the model for
that site.
