Apologetics for America- About The Quiet Conservative

Who will speak for America? Is it still allowed?  When I talk to people about the efforts to fund The
Quiet Conservative, I assume they see what I see to some extent.  While I try and convince them that
our efforts are the solution to the problem, perhaps I am too quick to assume they can see the extent
of the problem.  Detailing both the problems and why our efforts are the solution may help bridge the
gap between inaction, and coordinated efforts to help this nation.  As Edmund Burke so famously is
misquoted:
"The only thing required for evil to win is for good men to stand by and do nothing."

While most people recognize the quote (it certainly is catchy), it isn't as applicable as what he did
say.  The actual quote is:

"When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall one by one, an unpitied
sacrifice in a contemptible struggle."

Mr. Burke perceptively noted a facet of human nature is to ignore larger problems as though they
could not affect someone personally.  When I talk to business people, they don't want to deal with
social issues. When I talk to foundations, or non profits, or religious organizations, they don't want to
get involved in business issues.  Yet both are being worn down by relentless attacks from people that
only exist to destroy.  As a whole, America is being defeated in detail from within.  Each segment of
our society is being isolated and those that are fighting the battles to preserve the nation have not
coordinated.  They see only their own fight and so fight on a tactical level.  Meanwhile, on the
strategic level, they are isolated and destroyed.

"Apologetics" is the term for a reasoned defense of an idea or position using reason.  Almost all of the
editorials on The Quiet Conservative are apologetics for America.  I would encourage you to pick one
at random and see how a reasoned defense of our nation could be in small town papers nationwide
with your support.  There could be hundreds of writers extolling a positive view of our nation instead
of the negative.  Apologetics for America should be common. But it isn't. There are no apologetics for
America.

Four companies. That is what I have been trying to fund since 2006.  Four companies accomplish the
goal of a reasoned defense for America.  The first, The Quiet Conservative, is a press service
nationwide that concentrates on state level politics for the secondary papers. There must be a primary
source asking politicians the questions that the media will not ask. These reporters must be impartial
and write factual stories, not the propaganda you find in the major papers today.  This first company
is the foundation of all our efforts and without such, there is no helping America.

A Fair Press is Vital

Here is a quick profile in the existing media.  From the book The Professors by David Horowitz:
Professor Todd Gitlin is a journalism professor at Columbia University.  Every year he teaches and
shapes future journalists in his classes.  He was the former president of the SDS (Students for a
Democratic Society) and was quoted in the book
"The most powerful public emotion in our lives was
rejecting patriotism."
And, found online, was another of the professor Gitlin's quotes, "My
generation of the New Left — a generation that grew as the [Vietnam] war went on — relinquished
any title to patriotism without much sense of loss. All that was left to the Left was to unearth
righteous traditions and cultivate them in universities. The much-mocked political correctness of
the next academic generations was a consolation prize. We lost — we squandered the politics — but
won the textbooks. ”
~ from Varieties of Patriotic Experience

Why is this profile important? He is one of those academics on the exposed "Journolist" liberal group
that decided they would shape news to fit an agenda.  Not only is this hard Left/Marxist professor
shaping and grading the students who would be reporting news, he is active in turning news into
propaganda to advance a Marxist agenda.  How many others at universities have
Marxist/Socialist/Progressives directing who becomes a journalist?  Here are a few:
Professor Dana Cloud University of Texas, Austin
Professor Robert McChesney University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign
Professor Victor Navasky Columbia University
Orville Schell Dean of the graduate school of Journalism at U.C. Berkely
Michael Berube Pennsylvania State University
John Blevins  South Texas College of Law
Brad DeLong University of California at Berkley
Gerald Dworkin  UC Davis
Henry Farrell  George Washington University
James Galbraith  University of Texas at Austin
Arthur Goldhammer  Harvard University
James Johnson  University of Rochester
Mark Kleiman  UCLA
Paul Krugman Princeton University
Michael O’Hare  University of California at Berkeley
Harold Pollack  University of Chicago
Matthew Shugart  UC San Diego
Steven Teles  Yale University
J. Harry Wray DePaul University
Holly Yeager Columbia Journalism Review
Jonathan Zasloff UCLA
Julian Zelizer Princeton University

Did you know it was that pervasive? The press is corrupt from the university system right through the
publisher of the New York Times, Pinch Sulzberger.  Here's one you might have missed.  Harold
Meyerson is both a columnist for the Washington Post and the long time vice-chair of the Democratic
Socialists of America.  He is also editor at large for the American Prospect. The question isn't if the
press is corrupt, it is how can people have stood it this long?

You cannot fix the press, you must replace it. The way to do that is to understand that journalism
doesn't need to be learned in college.  Any experienced cop, fed, or military intelligence veteran could
be trained, or their existing training modified, to produce a far superior reporter than those
indoctrinated drones turned out by Marxists in quantity.

The Quiet Conservative column "Now Will You Listen?" from July 27, 2010 presents a more
comprehensive list of the known members of the corrupt Journolist group that shaped the news. Less
than half the members are known. But that is only one group. With the professors teaching biased
reporting and pushing Marxism, to the industry filled with those acolytes, America is being shaped in
their news and their views by corrupt, dishonest reporting.

Since the end of 2006 I have been searching for funding to combat the bias, and outright corruption of
the press.  Almost always I have run up against the lackadaisical view that it can't be that bad.  There
is a sense that if something truly was wrong, someone, somewhere, somehow, would have done
something about it.

Someone is.  George Soros just gave $1.8 million dollars to NPR to hire 100 reporters to cover state
news for the local stations.  He gives tens of millions through his foundation to push for socialism.
Media Matters is his creature. Free Press, which advocates government funded journalism, is pushing
to nationalize the press.  There is no one to stop them because no one is willing to acknowledge the
problem.

A fair press is the only private enterprise mentioned in the Constitution.  Why? It was that important
to have a way for the people to know what their government is up to.  When the press abdicates its
responsibility, it is necessary for the people to replace it with a new and fair press. Otherwise, the
government will have no accountability.  It is vital for a free society to have a free press.  One that
will do its duty. We would fulfill that requirement.  The Marxists understand the vital importance of
the press and education.  They now control both. They are shaping the future of America, not
business, not religion, not honest people, but secular/Marxist/socialists.

Ah, you say, but so what? We still have the Internet!  The media environment is changing. Papers are
dying. People have broken free of the traditional media and we don't have to worry.  Is that what you
are telling yourself? Let's consider one of the foundations listed above. The New American
Foundation.  Who is the Chairman of the New American Foundation? Eric Schmidt.  Who is Eric
Schmidt?
He is the chairman and CEO of Google.  He is also a  member of President Obama’s
Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.  The New American Foundation also has Jonathan
Soros on the leadership council of the New American Foundation.  Jonathan is the son of George
Soros and is the President and co-chairman of the Soros Fund Management LLC.  He also serves on
the board of dad's Open Society Institute.  That is the non-profit that has almost a billion dollars put
aside to tear America down and make it socialist.  Think the Internet is a safe bet to get your fair and
factual news out there?

While the press is corrupt, the rot doesn't end there.  Remember last fall the History Channel special
"The People Speak" adapted from Professor Howard Zinn's book
A People's History of The United
States?
It was promoted as how America really was.  It had Matt Damon, Josh Brolin, Viggo
Mortensen, Marisa Tomei, Bruce Springsteen, John Legend, and Danny Glover. It was produced by
A&E Television.  No mention, though, that Howard Zinn was a communist.  He taught political
science for 24 years at Boston University.  From a FOIA request the FBI just released the information
on him showing he was a CPUSA in the late forties and early fifties. How much damage has he done
directly to students all those years and how much indirectly with his slanted books?

While concentrating mainly on the press corruption, how far has this rot spread in academia,
Hollywood, New York publishing, Washington social and power circles, etc.?  You know it is
pervasive and there are three types of people I have encountered so far in this fight.  The first is of
the mind that it is no concern of theirs.  As long as they aren't directly getting ripped to shreds, they
don't want to get involved.  The second type is the willingness to help, but only to socially connected
people who may not solve the problem, but will make you feel good about what they are doing, and
the third type is the person who doesn't know there is a problem at all.  There has to be a fourth type
of person out there.  There has to be someone successful that likes America, wants to see America
prosper, and wants to solve the problems facing America, and will actually open their wallet and make
a commitment.  I am searching for that person.

With a fair and factual press up and running, the next step in Apologetics is to stop the revisionism in
history and culture.  Our history is being written by people that hate America. In the arena of ideas
there has to be books that fairly portray what is going on, and what has gone on in this country. TQC
Books, Magazine, and The Silent Majority Bookstore and Learning Centers are ways to combat the
secular/Marixists and their war on America.

But it all starts with a free press.  It must start there.
