Losing the Culture War, The Information War, The Education War,
The Space Race, National Security, Our Standing in the World, Democracy across the
              Globe, and America's Future.

The title may seem a bit long and gloomy.  But it is a realistic evaluation of our current course as a
nation.  Despite the mainstream press push to declare the recession over, opposition to the President's
goals racism, and the Constitutional right to health care whether you want it or not; reality is a bit like
gravity.  When you jump off of a sky scraper you can only lie to yourself for so many stories before
the ground checks your facts.

After nine months in office the man who ran on Hope and Change has produced nothing of merit but
misery, ineptitude, and the same old corrupt politics that has so disgusted and disengaged the American
voter.  Pundits on the television are quick to say that despite the dire looking numbers the economy is
about to swing back any moment.  Meanwhile Spain as slipped into depression.  Think of them as the
canary in the coal mine.  The economic airs are getting toxic and the policies of the administration and
their party are defying classic economics on purpose.  Their goal isn't prosperity for America, it is the
redistribution of wealth to address what they see as historical wrongs.  So far, no one is effectively
opposing them in their quest.

Economically, Marxism is failing here as it has failed everywhere else it was tried. The TARP funds
and the stimulus so touted by Speaker Pelosi are studies in waste and mismanagement.  It was as if...
no, it is- the reality of every liberal special pork project ever conceived being given the green light.  The
Cash for Clunkers, such a tiny allocation of three billion dollars, destroyed thousands of used cars that
could have been resold and conserved.  It did nothing to bolster the car industry, for as soon as the
program ended so did the sales at the dealerships.   GM is still failing as nothing has changed in the
way they do business other than they were taken over by the government and the unions.  It is not the
biggest failure to date, but it is the easiest example to point to.

A couple of car companies, though, are showing signs of life.  Fisker Automotive got 529 million
dollars from the Federal Government for their startup company to build hybrid cars i
n Finland.  Oh,
they are connected to
Al Gore.  Tesla Motors got 465 million because they are backed by Democratic
donors.
No whiff of corruption there, no sir. It reeks of corruption!  One of the aspects of our losing
our prosperity is the paying off of those with connections.

As for national security, where can one start?  The administration announced they were cutting the
number of border guards at the Mexican border the same week as an illegal Jordanian immigrant, 19-
year-old Mosam Maher Husein Smadi, parked what he thought was a car filled with explosives
underneath a sixty story office building in Dallas and keyed the trigger to blow it up.  The fact he had
been tricked by the FBI was less than reassuring as an Illinois Muslim convert tried to do the same to a
courthouse there.  I thought everyone liked us now.  That is the theme sold to us by the Democratic
Party leading up to the election.  Vote out the Republicans and the world will love us again. Who needs
respect when you have popularity?

Well, maybe the world is mad that we haven't lost the war in Afghanistan yet; although the Democratic
Party is hurrying as fast as they can.  They are a bit distracted by defunding the F-22 program,
dismantling the missile shield agreements in Europe, and defunding the manned space program for
NASA.  That's quite a bit of work taking us out of the super power status and placing us on the second
tier.  You can't destroy a country in a day, you know.  It took two hundred years to build.  We haven't
taken our liberal eyes off of the conflict though.  Refusing to consider sending troops to Afghanistan is
a bit awkward when it is leaked you don't want the military commanders to submit their requests.  It
even overshadows all the new restrictive rules of engagement that are getting our troops killed when
they don't have to die.  You may have noticed the fury in the press over that.  The same reporters that
harped on body armor and not enough humvees are busy digging into the problems of Afghanistan and
making the president miserable.

That was sarcasm.  The press is wholly a subsidiary of the DNC and the administration although they
are a bit uncomfortable in being called out on it.  It's like when President Obama, Vice President
Biden, and Nancy Pelosi were irritated during the President's speech to Congress when Wilson called
out he was lying...when the president was lying.  You just aren't supposed to do that sort of thing.  It is
good manners to pretend that the man isn't lying with every breath when he is lying with every breath.
You aren't supposed to call him on it.  The press is the same way.  You aren't supposed to call them
on the fact they no longer report the news but opinion packaged as news.

It isn't just the national level media either.  The local television station, KCTV5, had a special called
Health Care 101, (09/25/2009)  where they put the whole 'right wingers want people to die' in
perspective:
"KCTV5 has decided to clear away the clutter and confusion to help clarify what lies
beneath the pages of the bill."
They used only one expert, Dr. Marci Nielson, to do the cleaning.
Here is their description of her from the transcript at their web site:
 "Dr. Marci Nielson teaches
concepts and foundations of the health care system as part of her responsibilities as the vice
chancellor of public policy at the University of Kansas. She spent years on Capitol Hill working
with the Clinton administration in the last major attempt to reform health care.  She also worked for
then Gov. Kathleen Sebelius as the head of Kansas health policy."

Despite that concise description there might be a different view on Dr. Nielson if one wanted to check.
She is, after all, the sole expert KCTV5 felt they needed to clear away the clutter and confusion.   Dr.
Nielson spent years trying to pass government health care with Clinton. The "Hillarycare" that went
down in flames is something Dr. Nielson was a proponent of.  Do you think, just possibly, that Dr.
Nielson is in favor of Hillarycare 2.0?  She also worked for Governor Sebelius who was so intimately
tied into late term abortion doctor George Tiller.  So, is Dr. Nielson is a big time Democrat who likes
government health care and abortion? Who knows?  By running her name by Google her Kansas
Health Policy Authority bio says the doctor part is a P.H.D. and among her other accomplishments
were that she worked as a health lobbyist and then Assistant Director of Legislation for the AFL‐CIO.
What can be said in light of those qualifications is that her tendencies are liberal, big government, and
union.

None of this raised a flag at all at KCTV5 because no one saw that an opposing voice might be
needed.  Anybody against nationalizing health care? Must be a right wing nut job.  Why clutter up what
we want to say.  We are KCTV5 and we know better than you because we say so.  No questioning or
opposing views required.  No one was there from Americans for Prosperity.  No one called the
Heritage Foundation.  No one emailed the Cato Institute.  There was no need.  Everyone was in
agreement.  Health care reform means nationalizing health care.

No one at KCTV5 would be caught dead defining when life began and would never be forced to say
life begins at conception and ends at natural death, but everyone in the news can agree on what
reforming health care means to people who care.  The bias is throughout the operation.  These are the
same people skewered by the blogger The Kansas Meadowlark over their Phill Kline doesn't live here
fiasco.  The point is, though, this story went out on the evening news as news. Their segment of the
viewing audience that night now has the impression planted in their minds that health care is what a
nationalize health care advocate says it is.  And there is nothing telling them they are wrong.  This is
how we lost and are losing the information war.

A final point, not to depress you any further, is the culture war angle.  This has been lost so long ago
that there might not even be the hint at rebellion against the bright Socialist social future.  On television
is the rerun of Sneakers, the 1992 Robert Redford movie about computer geeks who foil the plot to
steal a code breaking chip.  In the end, the good guys win and the final denouement is a reporter on the
television reporting that the Republican National Committee woke up to be bankrupt and Amnesty
International and Greenpeace suddenly were flush with cash.  Get it? They kept the code breaking chip
and hacked the evil Republicans and gave all their money to the good guys who like puppies and
political prisoners.

Seventeen years later and a whole generation has grown up bathed in liberalism in subtle ways from
the news to the movies to the books to the magazines.  Go to the theater today and watch Michael
Moore's film about how capitalism is evil.  That means America is evil.  It means everything we have
accomplished since the end of World War Two is evil.  That is the mindset.  It is now the official
doctrine of the government, Hollywood, and academia.

The latest Atlantic Monthly magazine had an ad for the Washington Ideas Forum.  It states:
"25
leading journalists, 25 Fascinating Newsmakers, America's most prominent historians, write the
first draft of history. Presented by The Atlantic and The Aspen Institute."
Any idea who the folks are
at The Aspen Institute?  Probably not, but they aren't working with you in mind.  Do you think there is
even a remote chance there is one conservative among them?  One who likes America?  Here is what
Orwell had to say about this very process:
"He who controls the present, controls the past.  He who
controls the past, controls the future."

"Losing the Culture War, The Information War, The Education War, The Space Race, National
Security, Our Standing in the World, Democracy across the Globe, and America's Future" may be a
long title, but it is dead on in the description of events. It can be stopped.  It can be fixed.  Four steps
must be taken.  A fair press must be instituted nationwide.  Conservative books must reach the
population at large.  There must be a meeting place and learning centers promoting conservative
principles in every city, especially the blue cities.  And, finally there must be a magazine that goes in
depth to examine the workings of our government.  Four steps can save the nation.  How long must we
wait?
