The Sun Came Up in the West this Morning

The sun came up in the West this morning. So, I breathed a big gulp of water and put a pot of air on
the stove. Got to have my morning cup of ice cream before I can begin my day. Sound crazy? No, it's
just replacing fantasy for reality.  Seems to be the trend in the nation, so why not go all out and live in
a fantasy world?  What is so great about reality?

Let's start out with the cash for clunkers idea. It isn't the worst thing they have done.  After all, so far I
have only given someone $25 dollars towards the purchase of a new car, although it might be I am only
getting started.  You shouldn't mind the program either because you gave the same amount. This is an
easy math problem.  111 million households divided into three billion dollars equal around $25 each
household. You'll hardly miss it.  The fact the government took it from you, as opposed to you
voluntarily giving it, seems to be a quibble.  The clunkers program is a fairly small and innocuous form
of wealth redistribution.  The government took $25 dollars from you and your family, and gave it to
someone else because they
wanted to.  Why would you have a problem with that? Senator Schumer,
one of the all time great progressives, wanted to give even more of your money to car shoppers but the
weekend popped up in the middle of his taking of your money.  After resting from all the wealth
redistribution over the weekend perhaps he can get that next billion of your money out to car shoppers.

The original idea sounded great.  After all, what could go wrong? Everything of course. They burned
through the money that was supposed to last months in a week.  So, end it quickly or throw more
money at it? What to do...what to do? Throw more money at it, of course! After all, it is
your money,
not theirs.  Guess what will happen in two weeks when the next two billion are gone? They will ask for
more. Why not?  Right now they are calling the program a great success.  The program works all right,
people are really happy to spend other people's money.

But take it now from a different perspective.  How would you rate the government's idea, planning,
and execution of this program? A boondoggle? An ultimate chaotic mess? Proof that the inmates are in
charge of the asylum? Proof that socialism is, and always will be, destined to fail?  Would you say the
people in charge, who were educated in the best schools, are actually clueless boobs? Would you say
that they are communists, or socialists, or progressives, or liberals to the core and hell bent on
dismantling the free market system in favor of a planned economy? Or would you say they are brilliant
economists that have seen the wave of the future, and that is communism?

$25 isn't the end of everything. But it is illustrative of how the government can, and does, destroy or
decay everything it touches like the breath of pestilence. These same people, that will take your money
in this simple way, are responsible for doubling the deficit, increasing taxes, strangling business,
weakening defense, attacking the family structure, promoting activist judges, lying to voters, and now
nationalizing a sixth of the economy in taking over health care.

Health care, now that is something. The same unreality that thought the clunkers program was a good
idea are now thinking they can run health care at no cost to the taxpayers.  Their main argument is that
they can save most of the money off the bat by stopping fraud and waste.  Trim that, and they almost
have it paid for.

After this statement no on lit the torches. No one grabbed the pitchforks. No one grabbed a rope.  The
President and Congress admitted to the people they were wasting, and had wasted for decades upon
decades, billions and billions of dollars of your money and didn't care a bit about it until they decided
they wanted to spend even more of your money. For, lest you forget, they are talking about
your
money. "Government" doesn't have money. They don't have a job.  They don't generate revenue.
They take money from you supposedly to run certain essential services for the general welfare and
that's all they are supposed to take.

Yet, in reality they are assuming control of your lives, and now your potential death, by controlling
everything you do including what cars you drive, what food you eat, and what health care you get or
don't get. You are paying them to do it too.  There is something in the human heart that loves the slave
chain.  But this is the first time in human history a free and independent nation of individuals has
volunteered to buy the chains and put them on themselves.

You can replace fantasy with reality. You can call this drive to socialism "progressive."  You can call
this fiscal insanity saving the economy. But reality will still be there. We are heading into a economic
depression because of liberalism's refusal to acknowledge reality.  The sun doesn't come up in the
West, you can't breathe water, and socialism/liberalism/Marxism has never produced prosperity or
freedom and this government isn't going to do it either.
