                                                        The Birth Certificate

The birth certificate war is over. Obama dropped the big one last week. He produced a long form birth
certificate type form which almost everyone with a computer  immediately called fake, and the entire
liberal establishment and their stooges of the press called genuine.  The issue is now so polluted that
the facts will not matter, no matter what those facts are.  Which was the point.  The issue will never be
settled.

But, just a few small, inescapable facts to bring up to those so absolutely sure that the issue is settled
and that any remaining doubts are for the completely deluded.  There are some valid questions
remaining.  Questions that should be pointed out to you even as you dismiss the possibility.  First, the
document wasn't the long form issued by the hospital and recorded, it was an abstract from the
Department of Hawaii's records copied from their book onto safety paper.  Second, the PDF released
had been manipulated instead of being scanned.  When opening the document in illustrator there are
layers added as is visible in the software control panel.  Third, the type font is a different size than
other birth certificates issued that day to other babies.  But, I'm sure none of that matters in the least.
No one but the fringe noticed.  It doesn't alter the facts they noticed, but those facts will never be
pursued.

What Obama proved, beyond any reasonable doubt, is that he isn't up to being President of the United
States.  That issue was settled when he was pushed to produce the birth certificate because of a poll
that stated only 38% of Americans believed he was born here, and because Donald Trump called him
out.  The man who is the quintessential New Yorker simply didn't care what the glitterati thought, he
spoke what millions secretly thought. But billionaires have the ability to say things the common man
cannot, and have the soapbox to do it from.

Now, what kind of goober allows the situation to deteriorate to this point when he could have handled
it years ago?  Obama was needlessly divisive and evasive about the issue. He needlessly damaged his
own public image and confidence in his administration.  Is he masochistic?  Why allow such a minor
and silly issue to so greatly damage his credibility when he didn't need to? Is Obama a politician that
wants to alienate his constituency?

Obama's surrogates have spent millions of dollars contesting lawsuits demanding the birth certificate on
the ground of standing, never on the merits. State level Democratic Parties have fought tooth and nail
to prevent any type of state level bill from passing that would require a candidate to show the long
form birth certificate to get on the ballot.  Arizona did finally pass a bill only to have the Republican
governor veto the bill under the fear her state and party would be branded "racist".  His own party and
those in power fear the issue in their darkest heart of hearts.

Not that the racist label hasn't already been used furiously by every major babbling bobble head press
twit any time the question appeared.  If you ever questioned anything the President thought it was
because of his race and not because of his Bolshevik agenda.  This one was easy to label.  If anyone
dared to mention the birth certificate they were exiled to the far fringe element and immediately
discounted by the 'smart' people.  The curious were that completely marginalized.

For the last three years everyone of these 'smart' people have discounted 'birthers' and derided them in
every way when they called for the release of the birth certificate.  Because to smart people,
Obama
had already released the birth certificate.
I had been at functions where the people around me had
looked at me like I was illiterate or a kook for bringing the topic up in the first place.  Fact Check,
Snopes, and all the press had said he had released the birth certificate. It was common knowledge.  It
was a known given fact.  Only a moron thought differently.

Being used to that view, I simply noted the smug looks on their faces about their noted superiority and
sighed.  I don't claim to be a smart man.  I don't claim to have accomplished a single noteworthy thing.
I grant that everyone of those 'smart' people were and are far brighter than I ever hope to be.  But I do
wonder now, after Wednesday's release,  what exactly did he release?  I mean if Obama had released
his birth certificate the birthers had been demanding for the past three years, if every single major
liberal talking mouthpiece in the mainstream media and around the comfortable liberal intelligentsia had
demanded he had done so,
what was that new document on the White House web site?

Don't bother.   I keep waiting for someone to stumble on it and it doesn't look like it is going to
happen.
What President Obama did on Wednesday was prove the birthers right.  The president
had never released his birth certificate.  No one had seen it before. The press was wrong.  The talking
heads were wrong.  Common knowledge was wrong.  The assumptions were wrong.  The 'smart'
people were wrong.  And, despite being 180 degrees off course in everything they were thinking, they
took the release as a ringing endorsement of everything they demanded they knew (which was wrong),
was right to begin with.

This is one of the reasons I must not be smart.  I would think that if I argued that for the past three
years something was a certain way, say a document (birth certificate) was released and anyone who
wanted to could see it on the Internet, and someone else argued that it wasn't (it was a short form
certificate of live birth, available to parents whose children were born overseas- say in Kenya), I would
be a little less sure in my assumptions when it turns out the birthers were right (It hadn't been
released), and I was wrong.  Maybe it is just confidence I lack. It doesn't seem to trouble the smart
people at all.   I can see the follow up now:

So why did the Hawaiian Democratic Party originally refuse to certify Obama as eligible to be
nominated for the presidency?
What? I've never heard that!
Well, what about the two ways the DNC certified his nomination then? The Hawaiian form stated the
DNC had said he was qualified.  For past candidates including Gore and Kerry they stated the
candidate was constitutionally qualified.  Why did they have to change the language to make sure he
could be nominated?  Why take out the language stating he was constitutionally qualified?
You're making that up!
No, actually the documents are on the Internet you cherish so much as gospel and these actually are
not disputed.  They used the standard form with Kerry and Gore when they was running, but took out
the constitutional provision for Obama.
Just a coincidence then.
What about those lawsuits?
What lawsuits?  They were all won by Obama!
Actually, not one has ever been heard on the merits or facts of the case.  Everyone has been fought to
deny standing for those who would demand proof.  No court case has ever been heard on whether
Obama is eligible.
And, what about those sudden trips to Hawaii when the issue was raised?
What trips? They must have been scheduled. Vacations and sick grandma.
You mean the grandma he cared so much about he couldn't get there when she was dying?
What about sending Rahm to Kenya?
He went to Africa?
What about  Lt. Colonel Terry Lakin, the decorated Army doctor that refused deployment to
Afghanistan because of concern over the legal aspects of a possible illegitimate presidency?  The man
swore an oath to the Constitution and what he got for following that oath was six months in prison,
forfeiture of all pay and retirement and dismissal from the service.
But who cares about him? It's not like he is Lt. Dan Choi, the gay advocate who is interested in
sodomy as a constitutional right. That is something smart people can rally around.
What about the law firm, Perkins and Coie that handled the birth certificate lawsuits and handled this
request?
Just a coincidence.
What about the date of the request?
The date? What does that have anything to do with it?
Well, it was three years in and only getting hammered by Donald Trump and really taking a shellacking
in the polls about the issue finally forced the White House to do something. Was there a fear that one
of those states would actually pass a bill that required a certified birth certificate?  Was the document
released certified?
I don't want to talk about it, you're just a birther nut!
But I was right.
No you weren't! Obama was born in Hawaii!
I never said he wasn't. What I said was he never released his long form birth certificate. That's all I
said.  I've now been proven right on that issue.  Now, is there any problems with the long form he just
released? Anything? Any weight of surrounding circumstances that would bother you?
No! If there was any problem the press and Hillary and the smart people would have found it!
You mean, like the past three years when they, and you, said the birth certificate had already been
released?

....You can see how this would go. No, the issue is dead I'm afraid.   What Obama did was show the
entire press establishment was rotted through to the core (again).  President Obama had used the birth
certificate issue as a joke and a punch line for years, and the press protected him every step of the
way.  They are as disinterested in this issue now, as they have been for the past three years.  They are
disinterested in why the vicious fight to keep it hidden was waged.  They are disinterested in why
Obama allowed careers to be ruined.  They are disinterested on the timing of the Hawaii trips or the
Africa trip by his advisor.  They are disinterested in why millions were spent when the issue turned out
to be nothing all along.

Why would they spend millions?  Why fight always on the issue of standing and never on the merits?
They could have shown the long form the first day of any discovery and killed the issue in 2008.
Instead they let it grow to the level that the first person to make it an issue immediately tops the polls
as an opponent.  Does that make sense?  How much did they spend in suppressing the issue in
comparison to getting the form released?  Why did they suddenly fly a guy to Hawaii to get it?  Why
release a form that was layered and manipulated? Was it not the same form the guy picked up?

The media  is disinterested in the law firm and the sudden rush to release a form that has problems.
They are disinterested in the problems themselves.  The only thing they are interested in, is spiking
anything about this story and attacking anyone who has a problem with this story.

The issue is dead for smart people.  Only the stupid people have questions now.  Only the stupid
people are wondering about the facts.  The smart people have assumptions, all shiny and new,
untroubled by doubt.

...If we only had a real press- one that was a little less interested in their agenda and a little more
interested in facts.  Then the stupid people would feel less stupid, and the smart people less confident
in their assumptions.
