Rebranding
What happens when your product no longer sells, yet you don't have any new ideas? You change
the marketing but keep the same product. You can take something, say a failed car company, put a
different logo on the hood and maybe a different colored interior, then try and sell the same vehicle no
one was buying. Or, say you rebrand a failed financial services company by changing the name and
symbol on the building, but the same people come to work there every day. You haven't made any
real changes, you just hope to fool the people into thinking you are doing something new. You are
rebranding.
Our President and his administration are doing that right now with liberalism. Sorry, that has been
rebranded as "progressive." I seem to be a step behind. "Liberalism" was the rebranding of
"Socialism," which was the rebranding of "Communism." The President, who hasn't rebranded his
office yet, is in Europe busy selling the rebranding of America. He is marketing an apology for
America's "arrogance" of the last eight years when we actually took action to keep America and the
world safe. A great marketing moment was caught on the blogosphere when the President of the
United States bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia as he took his hand! Now that is rebranding!
America isn't too proud anymore. We bow to anyone. We submit. We aren't the land of the free and
home of the brave anymore. We are just like everyone else, only less so. You can find this grovelling
moment on YouTube if you want. The US media won't report it. The press knows about it, but they
are the marketing arm of the rebranding. They can't comment on anything that impacts the brand.
The closing of Gitmo, the push for releasing hardened Jihadists into the US on public assistance, the
repatriation of British Muslim terrorists to Britain so they can be on public assistance, are all one more
progressive step in apologizing to the Muslim world for existing as non-Muslims. We have rebranded
"The War on Terror" to be "Overseas Contingency Operation," and terrorists to be...well, 'disgruntled
tourists,' or something-(we are still kicking around that term in meetings.) We will, though,
acknowledge the lack of our culture and will decry any nation that promotes they are "Christian" as
intolerant, but will leap to acknowledge there are "Muslim" nations where Christians can be slaughtered
and tortured for being Christian. We can do that because we are tolerant of other people's intolerance.
Isn't that nice?
In Turkey, the President rebranded America as 'not a Christian nation, or a Jewish nation, or a
Muslim nation,' but as a secular nation. If you don't see this as rebranding, you are mistaken. This
nation was founded as a non sectarian nation but in no sense have the communists...sorry, socialists...
no not quite,...liberals...progressives, yes, that's it, 'progressives,' been able to rebrand it yet as free of
religion. Although the President is disingenuous enough in his subtlety to try.
America was founded on Judeo-Christian principles by Christians. From our founding documents to
our nation's monuments God is there all right. What America is, is a Christian nation with tolerance for
all religions. The governmental structure is secular, but not meaning to be comprehensively secular in
excluding religion. The government is meant to be the structure for a religiously moral population.:
We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by
morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of
our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and
religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." --
John Adams, October 11, 1798
For those not completely swayed, how about James Madison? For he was one of the prime movers of
the Constitution, considered fixed by conservatives and flexible in the extreme to progressives. He
attributed the very structure of the three branches of our Federal Government as follows:
"At the Constitutional Convention of 1787, James Madison proposed the plan to divide the central
government into three branches. He discovered this model of government from the Perfect Governor,
as he read Isaiah 33:22;
“For the LORD is our judge,
the LORD is our lawgiver,
the LORD is our king;
He will save us.”
It remains to be seen if the rebranding includes the very destruction of the separate branches of
government. The rebranding is possible with progressives controlling the legislature, the executive, and
poised to overwhelm the judiciary thereby eliminating the three branches into one streamlined freedom-
free machine.
With the complete control of the media, progressives are making great headways into tearing the
nation off of its moral foundations. More and more people are declaring themselves free from religion,
as the only view they see of religion in the popular culture, academia, the press, and from government
is one of open hostility and contempt. But the very people doing the tearing refuse to even speculate
on the connection of religion and morality as a moderator on people's behavior. It should be obvious.
Take away right and wrong, good and evil, accountability; and you end up with immoral unethical
people that will screw you over in a heartbeat for any reason. Any wonder the prisons are spilling over
and people are stealing, shooting, embezzling, raping, cheating on taxes, and backstabbing President
Bush while the same Christian gentleman is keeping his mouth shut?
With the new progressive President busy on the apology tour, Things aren't dead here at home. There
is no stopping the eager progressive acolytes from working hard on rebranding here. Capitalism is
blamed for producing wealth, which has been rebranded as immoral. Redistribution of wealth, which
used to be theft, is now the new moral labor. The government is bent on taking over health care with a
short sidestep of taking over the banking sector and the car industry. Energy will be next on the list.
The separation of church and state never really existed but the separation of private industry and the
government did. That is changing.
Tax cheats are rebranded as vital public servants. Congressmen and Senators who destroyed the
economy are rebranded as impartial bystanders charged with fixing it. Hardened abortion supporters are
rebranded as Catholics. The military is rebranded as unnecessary, at least funding it is. Iran and North
Korea are rebranded as misunderstood. Cuba is declared open. Hugo Chavez is a snappy dresser. Iraq
doesn't exist. Freedom of speech is now a hate crime. Freedom of religion means keeping it only in
church on Sunday between nine and noon, and never mentioning God in public. You can own all the
guns you want, just as long as they don't work, are disassembled, and you don't have any ammunition.
The internal combustion engine is evil. Oil and coal are killing the planet that isn't alive. Humans are not
sacred but polar bears and spider monkeys are. Sexual promiscuity is sold as normal and healthy, while
the traditional family is rebranded as dysfunctional and immoral. The earth is cooling but the computer
models are heating up.
There is a lot to do here. A lot goes in to rebranding a free nation of over two hundred years into a
collective satisfied with a leaf bowl in a cage. Rebranding communism into progressivism is taking
time. But it is working. More and more people are being sold a philosophy that has killed hundreds of
millions of people, produced nothing but misery, and has always failed. For those who recognize this
rebranding, what are you going to do about it? Will you help your neighbor recognize the same old
poison in the shiny new box? Or will you line up to help sell?
