America, the Paper Tiger, is Back.

People have forgotten how ineffectual American foreign policy was during the Clinton years. They
have forgotten because the press didn't report accurately at the time, and have been lying their pants
off since then, about the failed presidency of Clinton.  The press has also not been honest for the last
eight years about the Bush Administration’s efforts in office.
A quick history lesson before moving on to our current “Change” of policy:  The Middle East has
been a mess long before the first Gulf War under President H.W. Bush in 1991.  But to have a quick
lesson we’ll only start with the end of that conflict.  Iraq invaded Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.  Between
Hussein's aggression, and Iran’s collapse under Carter, ten percent of U.S. imported oil was threatened
and over thirty five percent of Europe’s oil.  America with the help of Europe threw Iraq out of
Kuwait but stopped short of regime change due to President Bush’s adherence to the UN directives.
President Bush 41 lost his reelection due to the third party split of Ross Perot.  Clinton, who did not
get a majority of the vote, took office and again with a split vote retained it in the next presidential
election.  This last bit of history might come as a shock as the press has portrayed Clinton’s popularity
as given.  They lionized his time in office as greatness marred by personal failings.  But Clinton was a
failure in more ways than just molesting someone young enough to be his daughter and lying about it
under oath.  He led a complete disaster in foreign policy and would have destroyed domestic policy as
well, if not stopped by the Republican majority take over of Congress.
President Clinton did nothing on Iraq when Hussein violated the cease fire that stopped the first
war.  Emboldened, Hussein fired on US Warplanes covering the no fly zone, blew off economic
sanctions by bribing the
entire UN organization and many European governments, and spent a decade
funding suicide bombers in Israel.
Meanwhile, eager to establish his military credentials in less critical areas, Clinton fumbled
interventions into Haiti, Yugoslavia, and Somalia.  It was the Somalia debacle, of Blackhawk Down
fame, that convinced Ossama bin Laden that the United States was a ‘paper tiger,’ unwilling and
unable to oppose a determined foe.  His organization, Al Qaeda, went on to prove that time and time
again from the African embassy bombings, to the Cole, to both attacks on the World Trade Center.
America talked, held press conferences, but did nothing.
All in all, the entire Clinton Presidency was a
dismal failure in protecting America and America’s
interests around the world.  Now let’s skip forward past the eight years of the Bush Administration.
Because, there is no need to cover his time in office.  If we did, the pundits would immediately point
to 9/11 as proof of his failure.  (Forgetting, of course, that he had no assistance in the transition
because of the juvenile antics of the departing Clinton gang.  We would also have to ignore the first
crisis of his presidency which was the American spy plane rammed by the Chinese over international
waters and the crew and plane held hostage by the Chinese.  We would have to forget that it was only
eight months later that 9/11 happened as Bush was rebuilding the military, the intelligence services, the
economy, and the relations with the rest of the world still held in awe at the trailer trash antics of
Clinton.)  If we did cover any of Bush 43’s time in office we would have to show that he did not have
the cooperation of the state department, had the entire Democratic Party fight his every effort in all
ways, yet still he persevered in removing Iraq as a threat, neutralizing Afghanistan, destroying much of
Al Quada as an operational threat against US interests, and keeping America attack free for the
remaining time in office.
If we forget all that, and mention President Bush’s time at all, it is to note that the incoming
Democratic administration, without any accomplishments yet, holds the efforts of the administration of
the last eight years in complete contempt.  Back in place is the Democratic policy of diplomacy first,
diplomacy last, and diplomacy in between.  Lack of action is back as Democratic officials and the
press reclaim what they call "America's standing in the world."  Executive orders have gone out to strip
intelligence services of any tools in interrogation.  Guantanamo Bay, long the target of leftist hysteria,
is being shut down.  The new administration cannot even come to state there
is a war on terrorism.
The new message to the evil of this world is:
“If you attack us, we will assume it is our fault…and
we will supply more foreign aid to you who hate us. We may not even acknowledge it happened."

America's new policy is to just brush it off as something that happened overseas, like the embassy
bombings or the Cole.  We will also not be vigilant to the threat of terrorism.  As Mrs. Clinton, now
Secretary of State, said in her incoming address to the State Department:
“I don’t get up every
morning just thinking about the threats and dangers, as real as they are. I also get up thinking
about who we are and what we can do.”
It is a return to the pre 9/11 mentality that earned that date its infamy.  Not thinking about the threat
and not planning for the threat was what the Democrats, who spent the 1990’s setting up 9/11, tried to
tag on the Bush Administration.  Now we return to that era in spades.
What is the State Department planning to do with the mentality of people such as Hamas?  These
are the people who purposely set up rocket firing sites in schools, hospitals, and civilian neighborhoods
to bait Israeli response.  The resulting casualties, or “Involuntary Martyrs” as they are known, were
planned by the Hamas leaders.  With Israel grinding through Gaza in an effort to disarm and destroy
Hamas before the Obama Administration took office, Israel decimated Hamas and most of Gaza to
boot.   After the cease fire by Israel, Hamas claimed victory and remained steadfast to its pledge to
destroy Israel and kill the Jews.  It is in their charter.  It is their only policy goal.
What is Clinton and the State Departments opening negotiating line to be with Hamas? You can kill
some of the Jews but not all? No suicide bombings during the Sabbath? You can destroy Israel but
have to have UN approval first?  How do you negotiate with that mentality? The past Democratic
solution was appeasement. Give them money and hope you can buy them off. They did it with North
Korea.  They did it with most of the Arab countries.  The fact it is didn’t solve anything and it’s your
tax dollars, is irrelevant.  The plan was to kick the can down the road as long as possible then blame
the Republicans.  It seems this is still the plan.
There is also the question as to the selection of Mrs. Clinton for the position.  Pay for play is a
strong party platform with the Democratic Party. Mr. Clinton is taking in cash hand over fist from
Arab countries.  How will that play into consideration of the State Department’s policies?  When the
Communist Chinese were buying all they could get from the Democratic Party in the 1990’s, they got
missile and high tech know how.  Their space program should be dedicated to the Clintons.  Do they
still have their checkbooks open?
Elections have consequences. From Obama eagerly closing Quantanamo Bay without knowing what
to do with the Jihadists there, to the front row center seats at the Inauguration for Medea Benjamin
and CODE PINK, the new administration has returned to the Clinton era philosophy of national
security.  That is-
weakness.   Do nothing.  Apologize for America.  Talk.  Hope they like us, appease
them if they don’t, and hope they don’t hurt us.  President Obama has filled his cabinet with tax
cheats, global warming fanatics, Clinton retreads, union activists, abortionists, and Chicago pay for
play thugs.  Welcome to the next four years of American greatness.
America the Paper Tiger is back.
